LEED accredited
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED)
Kirkpatrick Architecture Studio has LEED
Accredited Professionals on Staff who evaluate each project to
determine possible green building strategies that may be applicable
to the design.
Green Building
Sustainability or "Green Building" is becoming
more prevalent in today's architectural design and development.
Societal and governmental concern for the environment and energy
conservation is driving this movement and once again, KAS is on the
cutting edge.
KAS designed Fire Station No. 7 for the city of
Denton, TX which earned Gold LEED Certification from
the US Green Building Council, and is the first fire station in
Texas to achieve this distinction. It is only the second such fire
station in the USA.
Kirkpatrick Architecture Studio is currently working with the City of Norman, Oklahoma on Fire Station No. 8, which is pursuing Silver LEED Certification.
We are members of the USGBC and the North
Texas Chapter of the USGBC.

LEED Rating
System
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally
accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of
high-performance green buildings. LEED provides building owners and
operators with the tools they need to have an immediate and
measureable impact on their buildings’ performance.
Project Certification
LEED certification provides independent,
third-party verification that a building project is environmentally
responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work.
Professional Accreditation
LEED Accredited Professionals are professionals
who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building
practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements,
resources and processes.
