Hilltop Elementary School
Argyle, Texas
Hilltop Elementary School for Argyle I.S.D. is a 97,112
square-foot, Pre-K - 5 facility designed to support a student
population of 700. Constructed on a rural hill site, the terrain
provided ADA challenges and special opportunities for a teaching
environment. The building configuration creates settings for a fine
arts patio, a science yard, and an enclosed playground for Pre-K - 1
students. Shared curriculum areas are central to the facility, and
grade levels have been located to enhance flow of student traffic
throughout the building. A full-sized gymnasium provides activity
space for students and shared community space for after-hours
athletic events.
Kirkpatrick Architecture Studio always designs schools with the
students in mind, creating bright colorful spaces scaled to
accommodate the grade-levels in each facility. For more information
on our president and founder, James R. Kirkpatrick's approach to
designing learning facilities, see these articles that he
contributed to on our Press page.
