Whitesboro Middle School
Whitesboro, Texas
Whitesboro Middle School was a new facility designed for grades
5-8. The requirement for the new school was to house 5th/6th grade
with an upper elementary instructional model and 7th/8th with a
junior high school instructional model. A buffer zone was added between
the two groups. The building design provides a classroom wing for
each grade level and a central commons area where all students can
share common activities such as food service, school assembly and
library resources. The commons area also provides a crossroads for
building circulation and point of reference within the facility.
"[Kirkpatrick's] strong point is in working with school
people to make sure that everyone is involved in the design phase
and that all parties get exactly what they are paying for in a
school building."
Jerry Dickson, Superintendent (1985-1996)
